  1. Joyeux Noël

    December 25, 2009 by Katie

…the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.   Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.   This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”  Luke 2: 10-14

To all our family & friends—Merry Christmas from sunny Seattle!

Not able to go back to Kansas for Christmas this year (super sad about this), we stayed in Seattle and enjoyed a quiet and relaxing day to ourselves.  We slept in, made coffee & cocoa, read the Christmas story, exchanged our gifts to each other, and took a nice long walk all over quiet downtown.

No white Christmas for us, but we’re thinking of everyone back in the Midwest who are snowed in from the blizzard. I wish I could be there too.  Stay safe and warm.  If you’re sick of the snow (and can get a flight out), it’s gorgeous out here, and we’d love visitors. :)

Thankfully, we were able to fly over to Idaho last weekend and celebrate an early Christmas with Todd’s parents.  It’s nice to have them (somewhat) close to us so we can spend a little holiday time together.  It was good to relax, visit our favorite coffee shop, walk around Coeur d’Alene, and savor the traditional yummy prime rib & yorkshire pudding for ‘Christmas Dinner’.  There certainly wasn’t the plethora of snow like we had last year, but our stay was filled with excitement anyways.

Thanks for hosting us Mom & Dad!
